Directory Terms of Use

Last updated: 22 August 2026

These Terms of Use apply when you access, browse or use the Occasier Directory.

The Occasier Directory is provided by Occasier to help users discover independent businesses and venues that may provide products or services for weddings, events and other occasions.

By using the Directory, you agree to use it in accordance with these Terms of Use.

1. About the Occasier Directory

The Occasier Directory is a discovery and information service that allows users to search for businesses and venues according to factors such as event type, service, category, service area and other listing information.

Businesses and venues appearing within the Directory are independent third parties.

Unless Occasier expressly states otherwise, inclusion within the Directory does not mean that a business or venue has been vetted, approved, accredited, recommended or endorsed by Occasier.

2. Independent Businesses and Venues

Businesses and venues listed within the Directory operate independently from Occasier.

Occasier does not employ, manage, control or act as an agent for businesses or venues listed within the Directory unless expressly stated otherwise.

Any enquiry, quotation, booking, contract, purchase, payment or other arrangement is made directly between you and the relevant business or venue.

The business or venue is responsible for the products and services it provides and for complying with its own applicable legal, licensing, insurance, professional and regulatory requirements.

3. Your Responsibility Before Booking

The Directory is intended to help you discover potential businesses and venues. It should not replace the checks you consider appropriate before making a booking, entering into a contract or making a payment.

You should consider independently confirming matters relevant to your requirements, which may include:

The checks appropriate to a particular business or service will vary.

You are responsible for deciding whether a business or venue is suitable for you.

4. Listing Information

Directory listings contain information provided by the listed business or venue.

Occasier may review, format, organise or moderate information submitted for publication, but this does not mean that Occasier independently verifies every statement contained within a listing.

Businesses are required to provide information that is accurate and current and to notify Occasier when relevant information changes.

However, information can change after a listing has been submitted or reviewed.

You should therefore confirm important information directly with the relevant business or venue before relying upon it when making a booking or payment.

5. Pricing Information

Price ranges and other pricing information displayed within the Directory are intended to provide general guidance and may not represent the final price you will be quoted.

Prices may vary according to factors including the service required, package selected, event date, location, duration, availability, additional requirements and subsequent changes made by the business.

You should obtain and confirm current pricing directly with the relevant business before booking.

6. Pricing Checked

Some listings may display a Pricing Checked indicator.

Pricing Checked means that Occasier has reviewed pricing information or evidence supplied by the business and compared it with the pricing information displayed within its Directory listing at the time of the check.

The date of the most recent check may be displayed alongside the indicator.

Pricing Checked does not mean that Occasier:

Prices may change after the date on which they were checked.

Always confirm current prices and what is included directly with the business before booking or making payment.

7. Occasier User Offers

Some businesses may provide an exclusive offer for eligible Occasier Directory users.

The details and conditions applicable to an offer will be displayed within the relevant listing where applicable.

Conditions may include minimum spend, eligible services or packages, excluded dates, expiry dates and other restrictions.

You should review the conditions and confirm eligibility with the business before booking.

The listed business is responsible for applying and honouring its advertised offer in accordance with the stated conditions.

Occasier may provide a unique offer code to help identify eligible Directory users. Providing a code does not make Occasier a party to the resulting booking or transaction.

Offers may be amended, withdrawn or expire. You should therefore confirm that an offer remains available before relying upon it when making a booking.

If you experience a problem with an advertised Occasier User Offer, you may report the listing to Occasier.

8. External Websites and Social Media

Directory listings may contain links to businesses’ websites, social-media accounts, Google Business Profiles, Linktree pages or other third-party websites and services.

These links are provided for convenience and to help you obtain further information about a business.

Third-party websites and platforms are not controlled by Occasier.

Occasier is not responsible for their content, availability, security, privacy practices or subsequent changes made to them.

Following an external link is at your discretion and may be subject to the third party’s own terms and privacy policies.

9. Enquiries, Bookings, Contracts and Payments

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Occasier does not process enquiries, bookings, contracts or payments between Directory users and listed businesses.

You should communicate directly with the relevant business regarding its services, quotation, availability, contract, payment arrangements, cancellations, refunds and any other booking-related matters.

A contract entered into with a listed business is between you and that business.

Occasier is not a party to that contract merely because you discovered the business through the Occasier Directory.

10. No Guarantee of Availability or Results

Occasier does not guarantee that:

Search results are provided to assist discovery and should not be interpreted as a ranking, recommendation or guarantee of suitability unless Occasier expressly identifies something as such.

11. Reporting a Listing

Occasier provides a facility allowing users to report concerns relating to Directory listings.

Reports may include:

Occasier may review a report and take action where reasonably appropriate, including requesting information from the listed business, correcting or hiding information, removing an offer or Pricing Checked indicator, suspending a listing or removing a listing.

Submitting a report does not automatically establish that a business has acted improperly.

Please provide reports honestly and in good faith.

12. Complaints and Disputes With Businesses

Businesses and venues listed within the Directory are independent third parties.

If you have a complaint relating to products or services you have purchased or booked, you should ordinarily raise it directly with the relevant business.

Occasier does not ordinarily mediate contractual, payment, refund or service disputes between Directory users and independent businesses.

You may nevertheless report a listing to Occasier where your concern relates to the accuracy, integrity or appropriateness of information appearing within the Directory.

13. Acceptable Use

You must not misuse the Directory or attempt to interfere with its normal operation.

You must not knowingly:

14. Availability of the Directory

Occasier may change, update, suspend or discontinue any part of the Directory where reasonably necessary.

We do not guarantee that the Directory or every feature within it will always be available without interruption or error.

Listings may also be added, amended, suspended or removed over time.

15. Intellectual Property

The Occasier name, branding, website design and original content created by Occasier are owned by or licensed to Occasier and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Business names, logos, photographs and other content appearing within individual listings may belong to the respective businesses or other rights holders.

Their inclusion within the Directory does not transfer ownership of that material to Directory users.

16. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to those rights and limitations, Occasier is responsible for operating the Directory but is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, products, services, contractual obligations or business practices of businesses and venues listed within it.

Occasier does not guarantee that information supplied by third parties will always be complete, accurate or current.

Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

17. Privacy

Personal information processed through the Directory is handled in accordance with the Occasier Privacy Policy.

Information submitted when reporting a listing may be processed for the purpose of reviewing, investigating and responding to the report where appropriate.

18. Changes to These Terms

Occasier may update these Directory Terms of Use from time to time, including where the Directory, its features or applicable requirements change.

The latest version will be published on the Occasier website together with the date it was last updated.

19. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute relating to these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts applicable under the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights you may have as a consumer.
